Triangle Forest

On tuesday we got a last minute phone call, a band dropped out of a show so he was calling to see if we could open for Julian Casablanca (from The Strokes) that night at Lupos. We actually just turned from a trio into a quartet with the addition of our friend Marty who used to play in the band before moving to Philly, so we basically had to drop everything and do an emergency practice all afternoon before the show. I hated to leave work in the middle of the day because we had a ton of stuff to do, but I knew i didn't want to miss the opportunity! It was really cool playing on such a huge stage. After the show two girls even came up to me and asked me for my autograph!! It made me feel like a rockstar. If you haven't heard my new band check us out on myspace! www.myspace.com/triangleforest
It's one of my BFF's brendan's band and they are awesome. I joined it about 4 months ago. I am mostly just like a trained monkey behind the keyboard for now, but eventually i'm hoping to get good enough to write my own songs and maybe even start my own band/project!

oh and I added a lot of cute new clothes to my shop tonight! I love this new playsuits. I want to make a couple that have an empire waist next.

Spring Fling

Its saturday and the first day of spring! It's so nice out. The weather getting nicer has made me feel so much better all around, its been a really long year and there is something hopeful and exciting about spring! There are tons more people outside and it makes the city less gloomy.

Today I woke up, did some etsy work and then made a dress to bring to the boutique downstairs, Queen of Hearts. I dropped off that and 3 other dresses this afternoon then went for a bike ride. I love riding on my pink bike... everyone totally loves that thing too, i get lots of attention (so far only good). Tonight there are a few shop openings and a gallery opening on my street, one for Queen of Hearts. I'm so excited because Karen gave me my own clothing rack there and she put it separate from all the other racks in the front of the store. whenever i walk by i can see how everything looks!

Off to go get ready for the shows...

TIGHTS TIGHTS TIGHTS

these are "tight!" ROFL. All of them are from http://www.missselfridge.com
Which is a british store i totally love. Especially because when I was 13 I moved overseas to Abu Dhabi (capital of the UAE... next to dubai) with my family. There was NO good shopping when we first got there because it wasn't very westernized, literally not even one store in the whole city with clothing that me or any of my friends would ever wear!! The only time I got new clothes was when i went back to the US for christmas and summer break. But then, the first cool store to hit abu dhabi opened, and it was Miss Selfridge. It was the only place any girl in my high school would shop at! Since I've moved a ton of awesome malls have opened up, and Abu dhabi and Dubai are totally shopping paradises. I totally save most of my shopping for when I go to visit my dad every year!

first entry!

hello new super secret special diary !!!

I'm hoping to be more of a blogger so this is my first try. I also want to start reading other peoples blogs, so suggestions... come flying in!!

I'm gonna start posting some outfits i wear too! so here's the first-
Photobucket

I usually dress pretty boring unless it's the weekend or I'm going out, because on weekdays I hate to admit it but I'm usually in my apartment 24 hours a day, mostly working, unless I wander out to the streets in search of food or fresh virgin blood to feast upon. So leggings, tank top, sweater. and the occasional hot dog suit when i feel like kicking it up a notch.

Anywayz, Tonight I dyed some fabric and I can tell its going to be great! I used this fabric dye called Idye, by Jaquard. At first I could only find it online, then discovered it at an art supply store nextsdoor in my old town, but on a recent trip to Joann Fabrics I discovered they stock it now!! Its really amazing because they have a ton of colors you wouldn't be able to find else wear (Like chartruese and pastels!!) i usually stick to pastels but they kept coming out way lighter than I wanted, so I tried violet tonight and they garments aren't completely dry but I think they'll look awesome! I love how when I dye slips the trim comes out a slightly different shade. I even threw in a couple pairs of my underwear in my excitement. they were covered with stains so the dye fixed that right up (Totally JK- ING!). I did it on my stove top but I'd love to try a washing machine, my apartment only has a front loader one that is dryer and washer built into one (kind of annoying, it takes 4 hours each load!)

I'll post some pics of the dye job tomorrow!!

love, kelly
